In 2020 Peter called Mauricio Umansky directly. There was no introduction and no intermediary. He pitched the Canadian flagship of The Agency over the phone, from Toronto, in a single conversation. Paige Torkan stepped in as Broker of Record, and the two of them co founded what is now one of the most visible luxury brokerages in the country.
Today more than eighty agents work under the Torkan roof at 6-31 Scarsdale Road in North York. The roster sold $185 million in the first three quarters of 2026. Every Team Torkan listing is privately marketed through The Agency Global network, which spans 15 countries and more than 80 offices and has sold more than $45 billion since inception.
The brokerage is where Peter's own practice lives. Negotiation and closing on every Team Torkan listing are handled by Peter directly. Private sales, off market introductions and the handful of estates each year that never reach a listing portal all move through this office. Peter is a Chairman Award recipient at The Agency Global.
